Questions about hemp-derived Δ9-THC?

The THC-containing beverages offered by Kings Bay Beverage Company contain the same active ingredient (Δ9-THC) as is found in cannabis/marijuana/weed/etc. However, the THC in our beverages is NOT derived from marijuana - it is derived from Industrial Hemp.

Federally - yes! Under the 2018 Farm Bill, industrial Hemp was defined as hemp plants that produce less than 0.3% Δ9-THC in the plant material by dry-weight; an exception to the rule defining all cannabis plants as controlled under Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act. As such, the THC in our drinks and many others on the market is extracted from these low-THC plants, concentrated and purified, and then added to our flavors to produce sparkling, tropical refreshments with little bit of that THC magic. Congress.Gov entry on the 2018 Farm Bill

Because this THC is the same intoxicating ingredient that's in illegal cannabis, there's a very high chance that it will show up in a drug test! Therefore:

If you are subject to drug tests that include screening for marijuana, you should avoid THC containing beverages!!

Kings Bay Beverage is not responsible for your employment status. If your employer forbids the consumption of THC containing substances as a matter of employment, we actively discourage you from consuming our products.

As for everyone else with cool employers, please enjoy.
